Best job board software in 2026: an honest comparison

By the JobClay team ·

JobClay wrote this post, and JobClay is one of the five platforms in it. To keep it fair, every figure about another platform comes from that platform's own pricing page, which we read on October 27, 2026 and link below. Where another platform is the better choice, we say so. Prices and plans change, so open the links before you decide. Our own prices are on our pricing page rather than typed here, so they are always current.

Besides JobClay, it covers JBoard, Niceboard, Jobboardly and Cavuno. We also tried SmartJobBoard, JobBoardFire and JobBoard.io, whose pricing pages would not load for us, so they are not here.

What to compare

Feature lists are long and mostly alike. Five questions sort the platforms faster:

  1. What it costs to start, and to grow. A free plan, a trial or a money-back guarantee, then the price of the plan your board will need once it has jobs and employers.
  2. How the board fills with jobs. An empty board neither ranks on Google nor convinces an employer to pay. Look at how jobs come in (backfill, hiring systems, XML feeds, careers pages), how many, and on which plan.
  3. How employers pay you. Whether the platform takes a cut, whether Stripe is the only way, and whether invoices are issued for you.
  4. How jobs reach Google. Job posting data on every job page is the minimum. Fast indexing, which tells search engines about a new or closed job within minutes, is often kept for a higher plan.
  5. What sits on the higher plans. Emails from your own domain, removing the platform's branding, and tools beyond the board itself, such as resume parsing, custom fields, an API or messaging.

Checked October 27, 2026 against the pricing pages of JBoard, Niceboard, Jobboardly and Cavuno.

On their standard plans, JobClay, JBoard, Niceboard and Cavuno take no share of what employers pay you. Niceboard's Enterprise / Associations option and Cavuno's Enterprise plan can include a revenue share. Jobboardly's pricing page does not say either way.

JobClay

JobClay starts with a Free plan: a working job board on a yourname.jobclay.app address, with no card needed. Paid plans add your own domain and more room; emails from your own domain and removing the JobClay badge come with the higher plans. The pricing page lists each plan's price and limits.

What every plan includes:

  • Job sources. Companies from a library, Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Workable and SmartRecruiters boards, XML feeds and careers pages, read hourly, daily or weekly (careers pages daily or weekly). Rules tag or skip jobs, a source's new jobs can wait for your approval, and one opening listed twice appears once. Each plan sets how many job sources a board can have, and a company added from the library counts as one. More on job sources.
  • Payments. Packages of job posts and featured posts at your prices, paid by card into your own Stripe account or by bank transfer you mark paid, with numbered invoices and credit notes. More on payments.
  • Search. Job data on every job page, sitemaps, IndexNow on by default, and Google's Indexing API with a key from your own Google Cloud project. More on SEO.
  • The rest of the board. Job alerts by email, daily or weekly; an employer area with applicant stages, notes, CSV export and teams; and every word and email editable.

What JobClay does not have: a resume database or resume parsing, custom job fields, a talent pool, coupon codes, messaging with candidates, more than one language on a board, webhooks, Zapier, an API or single sign-on. If your board depends on one of these, choose a platform below that lists it.

JBoard

JBoard has no free plan. Its 14-day trial needs a card, and its page explains why: your board may go live during the trial. Plans, with the price billed monthly and then yearly:

  • Basic, $149 or $119 a month: custom domain, charging for job posts, a blog, 1,000 jobs, 100 AI backfilled jobs a month, job scrapers for 3 sources and 1 team member.
  • Standard, $249 or $199: adds job seeker profiles, subscriptions and packages, apply with resume, custom fields and filters, a custom email domain and 3,000 jobs.
  • Advanced, $449 or $359: adds XML feed importers, rapid Google Jobs indexing, an auto-tagger, Zapier, 500 resume parsings a month and 10,000 jobs.
  • Scale, $849 or $679: adds ATS and messaging, employer sub-accounts, single sign-on, API access and 30,000 jobs.
  • Enterprise: custom pricing.

JBoard charges no setup fee and no commission: you keep all of your revenue.

JBoard is the better choice if you need resume parsing, custom fields and filters, messaging with candidates, Zapier, an API or single sign-on, and the plan that includes it fits your budget. The difference to weigh: XML feed imports and rapid Google indexing start on JBoard's Advanced plan, and they are on every JobClay plan. JobClay vs JBoard, row by row.

Niceboard

Niceboard has no free plan; its page offers a 7-day free trial.

  • Core, $399 a month or $319 billed annually: 5,000 active jobs, 2 team members, 10 web scraper runs and 10 XML import runs a month, an applicant tracking pipeline, subscriptions, packages and upsells, a talent pool you can charge for, coupon codes, a blog and job alerts for 5,000 subscribers.
  • Advanced, $599 or $479: adds Google Jobs real-time indexing, Zapier, webhooks, multi-language support, custom account and job fields, removal of the Niceboard logo, 10,000 active jobs and 5 team members.
  • Custom, by contact: adds API access, single sign-on, candidate messaging, invoice-only pricing plans, a custom email domain, SEO redirects and daily job alerts.
  • Enterprise / Associations: managed setup, a dedicated account manager and a hybrid or revenue-share pricing option.

Payments go through Stripe; its FAQ says other payment processors are not supported at this time. Niceboard also offers job boards for association software such as GrowthZone, iMIS and WildApricot.

Niceboard is the better choice for an association that runs on one of those systems, a board in several languages, or a board that sells access to a talent pool or uses coupon codes. The differences to weigh: JobClay has a free plan, takes bank transfers as well as cards, and has daily alerts and redirects for old addresses on every plan. JobClay vs Niceboard, row by row.

Jobboardly

Jobboardly has no free plan and no trial; every plan comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee. Its page shows monthly prices and a yearly option that saves 33%, without the yearly prices.

  • Standard, $60 a month: 10,000 active jobs, 1,000 job imports a month through its backfiller and aggregator, CSV import, 2 team members, charging for job posts, a candidate paywall, applicant tracking, a custom domain, Google Jobs schema, weekly job alerts, and automatic sales tax through Stripe Tax with invoices.
  • Pro, $120 a month: adds the XML importer, white label, employer subscriptions, a management API and webhooks, sending from your own email domain, 20,000 active jobs, 2,000 imports a month and 5 team members.
  • Ultra, $240 a month: adds in-product messaging, a headless API, priority support, 50,000 active jobs, 5,000 imports a month and 10 team members.

Jobboardly is the better choice if you want a large job allowance at a low monthly price, sales tax worked out for you (JobClay prints the one tax line you set, and does not work out what you owe), employer subscriptions, or an API and webhooks. The difference to weigh: Jobboardly's XML importer starts on Pro, and an XML feed is a job source on every JobClay plan.

Cavuno

Cavuno has no free plan. A new account gets a 14-day trial of Starter with no card, and the board can be public during it; to keep it public afterwards, you choose a paid plan. Monthly prices: Starter $39.00, Basic $105.00, Grow $249.00, Advanced $449.00 and Scale $849.00, with Enterprise priced to order and billed annually.

The plans differ in size: 500 active jobs on Starter, then 1,500, 5,000, 15,000 and 50,000, with more email subscribers at each step. A custom email domain starts on Basic, and the Cavuno footer credit shows on Starter and is optional above it. Its comparison table lists on every plan a custom domain, AI job aggregation, CSV and XML imports including recurring feeds, Google for Jobs indexing, charging for job posts, AI resume parsing, a talent directory, custom fields and filters, a multilingual job board, discount codes, API access, webhooks, Zapier and unlimited team members. Its FAQ adds that it can scrape jobs from supported company careers pages. Its self-serve plans carry no Cavuno transaction fee or revenue share; Stripe's own fees apply.

Cavuno is the better choice if you want resume parsing, custom fields, several languages, discount codes, or an API, webhooks and Zapier on a low-priced entry plan, and 500 active jobs is enough to start. The difference to weigh: JobClay's Free plan has no trial clock, so a board can stay public while you find out whether the niche works.

Which one to choose

Match the platform to the one thing your board cannot do without:

  • You want to start without paying, and pay when the board needs room: JobClay. It is the only one of the five with a free plan; the others offer a trial or a money-back guarantee.
  • Your employers pay by bank transfer, or you cannot use Stripe: JobClay takes bank transfers you mark paid, as well as cards into your own Stripe account. Niceboard's FAQ says it supports no payment processor other than Stripe at this time.
  • You want XML feeds, fast indexing and import rules from your first plan: JobClay has them on every plan, the Free plan included. Cavuno's table also lists XML and recurring-feed imports and Google for Jobs indexing on every plan, from its $39.00 Starter.
  • You need resume tools, custom fields, several languages or an API on a small budget: Cavuno lists them on every plan.
  • You want a large job allowance and sales tax worked out for you: Jobboardly's Standard plan.
  • You run an association on GrowthZone, iMIS or WildApricot: Niceboard.
  • You need messaging or single sign-on, and have the budget for a higher plan: JBoard's Scale plan, which adds ATS and messaging and single sign-on, or Niceboard's Custom plan. For messaging alone, Jobboardly's Ultra plan, at $240 a month, lists in-product messaging.

Whichever you pick, test it with your real niche before you pay for a year: add a few real job sources, post a job, and run one job page through Google's Rich Results Test to see the job data Google reads. If you choose JobClay, our guide to creating a job board walks through the steps, and the Free plan lets you try them without a card.
