JobClay vs Cavuno
JobClay and Cavuno both host a job board on your own domain, fill it with jobs and take no cut of what employers pay on their published plans. Cavuno puts a great deal on every plan, from an API and single sign-on to resume parsing and 19 board languages, after a 14-day trial. JobClay does less beyond the board itself, and starts on a free plan with no end date.
Which to pick
Pick Cavuno if you want a long list of tools from the first plan: an API, single sign-on, several languages, resume parsing, AI job matching and messaging come with all of them. Pick JobClay if you want to keep a board online for free while it grows, or to sell featured company days and send reminder emails after an unpaid card checkout. Both send webhooks on every plan, which Zapier or Make can receive.

Tests anyone can repeat
The sample is the first three boards on Cavuno’s examples page (cavuno.com/examples). We ran each board’s home page, and peeljobs.com’s, through PageSpeed Insights (pagespeed.web.dev) on its mobile setting, all within ten minutes: Lighthouse 13.6 on an emulated Moto G Power with slow 4G throttling. Each figure is one run per board, on the day shown; peeljobs.com ran twice, scoring 93 and then 94, and the table shows the second run. Scores move a few points from run to run, so run them again there. Their job pages answered our ordinary requests with a bot check, so this table has no job data row: we print only what we could read. peeljobs.com is JobClay’s only live board: JobClay’s own board #1, on a complimentary plan.

Choose Cavuno if
- You want an API, an SDK, an MCP server or single sign-on on the entry plan.
- You need your board in several languages, or a jobs widget on another website.
- You want resume parsing, AI job matching, or messaging between employers and candidates.
- You want unlimited team members on every plan.
- You want the board under a folder of your main site, such as yourdomain.com/careers.
Moving your board from Cavuno
Export your employers and your jobs from your old board as CSV files, and upload them on the Import page of your console, on every plan. You match the columns, check a preview that lists every problem, and import. Employers come across with their companies, and when you are ready JobClay emails each one a link to set a password. Your open jobs keep the date they were posted. Old addresses keep working: give a job or company its old address in the file and the import adds a redirect, so visitors and search engines are sent to the new page. Job seeker accounts, job alert subscribers, applications, orders, paid credits and subscriptions do not carry over, so job seekers sign up again on your new board. Write to hello@jobclay.com and we’ll help you move.
Questions
More about what JobClay does:
Related pages:
Is Cavuno free to start?
For 14 days. New Cavuno accounts get a Starter trial with no card, and the board can be published during it; to keep it public afterwards you choose a paid plan. JobClay’s Free plan has no end date and needs no card, with smaller limits than its paid plans.
Does Cavuno take a cut of what employers pay?
Not on its self-serve plans: Cavuno says they are a flat subscription with no transaction fee or revenue share, though Stripe’s processing fees still apply, and its Enterprise pricing can include a revenue share when agreed. JobClay adds nothing to any charge either, on every plan.
Can I run a board without Stripe?
On both. A JobClay board can take bank transfers, which you mark as paid when the money arrives, with or without card payments through your own Stripe account. Cavuno says Stripe is needed only to collect online payments, and lists invoice-only pricing plans on every plan.
What does Cavuno include that JobClay lacks?
An API, an SDK and an MCP server, single sign-on, an embeddable jobs widget, AI resume parsing and job matching, messaging, 19 board languages and hosting under a folder of your main site, all from its Starter plan. JobClay has none of them. Its webhooks reach Zapier and Make on every plan, but if your board needs any of the rest, Cavuno suits it better.
