Job board niche explorer: how many jobs to start with?

Type the job title words and a country. See how many of the open jobs in JobClay’s source library match, which companies post them, and how many jobs a board on each plan would open with.

This answers one question: will my board look empty? It does not answer whether employers will pay, and the signals below are the ones it cannot measure.

Your niche

Optional. Separate several with commas, as in nurse, midwife. Whole words only, so “intern” does not find “Internal Auditor”.

This is the company’s industry, not the job’s: a healthcare company’s count includes its accountants and engineers.

A niche is a set of companies whose main product is in it: every role at those companies counts.

What a board would start with

Choose a country, or a niche to count every country.

What this does not tell you

Three signals of a good niche that JobClay cannot measure. Each rule below is published by a company that sells job board software, and they disagree with each other, so read them as one view, not a standard.

  • Search demand

How many people search for these jobs. JobClay holds no keyword volumes, so this page cannot tell you.

    • 5,000 or more monthly searches: Cavuno, updated October 11, 2026
    • about 2,000 monthly searches, with keyword difficulty under 20%: Job Boardly, read November 3, 2026
  • Employers willing to pay

Whether employers in the niche will pay to post. A count of jobs does not show it: only asking employers does.

    • 30% positive replies from employer outreach: Cavuno, updated October 11, 2026
    • name ten employers in the niche without research: Kardow, read November 3, 2026
  • A community to reach

Whether you can reach the people who would read the board. JobClay cannot see your audience.

    • a subreddit of 10,000 or a community of 5,000: Cavuno, updated October 11, 2026

Choose a niche whose demand you can check

What the count is, and is not

  • The library is a fixed set of companies on the hiring systems JobClay reads (Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Workable and SmartRecruiters). The count is the floor of what JobClay supplies on its own, not a census of the market.
  • Counts come before a board’s own source rules (words, places, end dates), so a niche board keeps fewer of these jobs.
  • The library is checked weekly, so every figure is the last weekly count, with its date.
  • A count of jobs does not show what a board would earn, and the page measures what JobClay can supply, not the market.

How the counts are made

  • Each week JobClay reads the open jobs of every company in its source library from the company’s public job board.
  • It keeps the title, the countries and the company’s industry of each open job, only to count them. Titles are not shown on this page, and neither are links to jobs.
  • Your words match whole words in the title, as a board’s own search does, so “nurse” finds “Nurse Practitioner” and not “Nursery Assistant”.
  • A company whose last reads failed for more than two weeks is left out of every count. When a company’s last read was partial, the figure says “at least”.

Questions

What does “at the last weekly count” mean?

The library is read once a week. The figures are the open jobs at that read, with its date beside them, not a live count.

Does a big count mean the board will earn?

No. Jobs on a board and employers who pay to post are different things, and this page counts only the first. Use the revenue calculator for the money side.

Why does a search show companies and counts but no jobs?

The library is a count of what JobClay can supply, not a place to browse jobs. Once a board exists, its sources bring the jobs in and the board shows them.

Can I search for remote jobs?

Not yet. A hiring-system source cannot be limited to remote jobs, so a board could not keep the promise a remote count would make.
